Spikes career began in 1985. Her first break was in the press working for London Daily News and local papers covering most of the events other photographers were not interested in.

Landing a prized job on 'That's Life" in the BBC's News and Current Affairs Department. Spike worked as the shows photographer for three years under the critical eye of Ester Rantzen. She proved to be a tough teacher in photojournalism.

During the months off air Spike was employed by the BBC's Stills Department in TV Centre, White City. Her assignments included Dispatches, Arena, Panorama, Eastenders and the popular Top of the Pops

Spike shot stills on her first TV commercial in 1988 for BP Oil through Beechurst Production Company, directed by Peter Levelle and lit by Adrian Biddle (Alien, Thelma & Louise) and over the past 21 years has been fortunate to work with some of the most talented Film Directors and DOP's on over 1000 commercials worldwide and several Feature Films.

In 1999 due to production demand Spike & Co Photographic Agency was created. Currently there are 10 photographers on our books, and growing.

In 2003 whilst shooting in Cape Town with Tarsem, through Radical Media, the idea of expanding the Agency to include South Africa was born. A meeting with Emma Taylor-Warne inspired the creation of our Cape Town Office, where we have produced and shot over a hundred campaigns for clients such as Land Rover, Orange mobile phones, Lynx Aftershave British Telecom, Captain Birdseye and Cow and Gate.

In 2007 the agency has opened its books to Makeup Artists and Stylists. Angel-Clare Watson has taken up the challenge of developing this new and exciting branch of Spike and Co.

As Digital Photography is now firmly established as a versatile and fast format, the agency now can produce Advertising Material including all Point of Sale including billboard quality whilst shooting alongside a TV Commercial Production.
